Eva Chen, the 35-year-old editor of Lucky Magazine is many amazing things. The youngest editor at Condé Nast, a new mom, and a street-style star with a social media presence that is on fleek. She is not however known for wedding dresses. Yet the editor says that people often approach her and compliment her on her designs.
“When people are like, ‘Oh my God, I love your wedding dresses,’ that means there are not enough Asian women designers, because they think that I’m Vera Wang.”
Vera Wang is one of the most noted wedding designers today. A super-woman in her own right. However she looks like this:
Quite different from Chen.
“I mean, I love Vera, I bow down to her talent, but I’m like, I’m not Vera Wang!” she joked, “It happens often enough that I am questioning [whether to design a bridal line].”
Mistaken identity aside, Chen had some really cool things to say about conquering your digital space. With over 300,000 Instagram followers (including myself) I think that’s just another accolade we can add to her list of cool attributes that doesn’t have anything to do with wedding dresses. Check out her discussion during SXSW with Joe Zee of Yahoo Style.
